CONGREGATIONAL CARE

Each elder and deacon care for a division of
the Sonlight Community in both a proactive and responsive way. Contact your elder or deacon by selecting the reference list below.
PRAYER TEAMS
Sonlight’s prayer warriors hold weekly prayer meetings, email prayer support chains and provide bulletin prayer items. Any need brought to their attention is held up in consistent, fervent prayer.
CARE NETWORK
Pastoral Care Network Team
Lay volunteers support elders and deacons across all districts.
MEAL TEAM
Providing short-term meal support most often for families who have had a new baby or those who are post-surgery or in grieving.
NURSES
Faith Community Nurses
Our nurses provide medical counsel,
hospital visits, home support, Sunday
morning consults, and social services
resource knowledge.
STEPHEN MINISTRY
This program provides trained care-providers to those who need committed, safe, long-term or short-term care relationships. People are paired with a provider to help them through time of crisis, friendship or a host of other needs.
ADULT MINISTRY
WOMEN
Wednesdays: 9:15-11 AM | September - April
Women of all stages of life are welcome to fellowship and study the bible together.
We meet to deepen our relationship with God by learning of the good news and what He says to us from the Bible, through prayer and by the life experiences of one another.
COMMUNITY GROUPS
Days & meet times vary
Smaller groups of 8-10 adults and their children meet in homes to worship, pray, learn and seek the welfare of the city together.
Groups meet to foster a sense of belonging, discipleship and to engage the community asa committed group.
PRIMETIME: SENIOR ADULTS
Meet monthly | Sept. - May
Adults, typically 55 years or older, who desire to enrich one another’s lives as we grow old together. We strive to use “retirement” to invest in heaven.
We gather for meals in the fellowship room, sing, seek fellowship, learn, play and serve with this prayer on our lips: "Thy Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven." We also have summer events—contact Kay for additional information.
STIR: YOUNG ADULT
Meet twice monthly
We are a group of young adults striving to cultivate a community that seeks to grow in our relationship with God and each other. Our goal is to bring the Gospel to the young adults in Whatcom County through fellowship, worship, and discipleship.
We meet together twice a month by hosting a worship night on the third Thursday of the month and a Sunday lunch the last Sunday of the month.
YOUTH MINISTRY
MIDDLE SCHOOL
Sundays: 9 & 10:30 AM | Wednesday: 7-8:30 PM
Wednesday evenings is an opportunity to share the Gospel so that middle school students will grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Through connecting in weekly worship and discipleship small groups, each student will develop a lifestyle attitude to love and serve God and our neighbors.
HIGH SCHOOL
Sunday Evenings: 6:30-8 PM
Church Gatherings: First three Sundays of each month (Upper Room).
Discipleship Group: Fourth Sunday of each month (Venue TBD by group leader).

by background-checked volunteers.

At Sonlight we provide safe and loving gospel-centered care for little ones. We will update each week with take-home papers, activities you can do with your little one to remind them of God’s great love for them, and upcoming activities and news from Preschool Ministries.
Elementary

Sonlight Children’s Ministry engages children
in the good news of the gospel by pointing to the beauty and wonder of Jesus. It is our hope to showcase His awesome deeds and how scripture centers on Him.
KIDS CLUB | Wednesday Evening: 7-8:30 PM
This year in Kids Club we desire for kids 1st-4th grade to be Mad About Jesus! Through play, stories and hands on science experiments kids will learn more about what Jesus does in their hearts and lives. All this while having fun, being a little silly and becoming more and more interested in this beautiful world God gave us.
GEMS | Wednesday Evening: 7-8:30 PM
This year in GEMS our focus is that Jesus is our biggest blessing and we can bless others by showing the love of Jesus throught our words, attitudes, and actions! And by staying true to our aim: To act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.
CADETS | Wednesday Evening: 7-8:30 PM
The goal of the Christian Cadet Club, based upon verse Luke 2:52 is to help boys grow spiritually in all areas of life (devotional, mental, physical and social) by providing Christian men with a uniquely designed structure, program, and materials so that
they can mentor boys effectively.

Sonlight Children’s Ministry gathers to celebrate the wonders of Jesus’ unending, never stopping love and Gospel rescue plan in a way children can taste and see.
Sonlight’s vision for its youth is that every student comes to learn and know that they belong, body and soul in life and in death to their faithful savior Jesus Christ.
