The desire to support adoptive families and orphaned children has long been stirring in the hearts of the membership of Sonlight Church. In 2005, we held a “Share Your Dream Sunday” where our members were encouraged to network with other individuals with similar dreams. The Family Life Dream Team was born out of this event with the hope of some day launching an adoption support system within our church.
We became aware of The Voice of the Orphan in 2006 and followed their 8-step guide to launching an orphan ministry. Hope 1.27 was dedicated on October 28, 2007.
It is our prayer that this ministry will develop awareness, compassion, and conviction to minister to orphans as much as we would any other needy group.
